The New Workforce of the Future

Was there any better endorsement of the future than the office than Salesforce CEO Pip Marlow’s declaration? “We are building a really big tower” because the “physical experience” of the workplace “is a core part of our value proposition,” Marlow said.

When it opens its doors later this year, Salesforce Tower at 180 George Street will be Sydney’s tallest tower. But forget a “sea of workstations”. Marlow said every square metre of the building, and the surrounding precinct, had been designed with people in mind – from the flexible floorplate that is “shape shifting” to the intelligent building technology that is “cloud first, mobile first, digital first”. While the function of the office has changed, no online experience can replace its two core drivers: “connection and collaboration”.
